VF Shaolin (@vfshaolin) drops the video for Die4Me off Motion Sickness, his new tape hosted by DJ Legacy. Exclusive here until Friday.
Watch below.
This one came to me. VF hit my DMs, I pressed play, and nobody in rap sounds like him right now. That voice is raspy like he’s been through too many blunts before every take, Legacy hyping from the back the whole way through.
Getting Knowledge kicks off the tape and it’s active, whipping round the city touching paper, it don’t take much to get shit touched he says and it’s clear we’re in the scene you can hear the cigarette smoke = Die4Me is next and it’s stack or starve approved - Hoodrich samples, and distorted drums with ‘LEGACY’ tags on the high end part of the EQ settings - hitting all frequencies - either you’re in or you’re out and the sound tests you here as we enter ‘MOTION SICKNESS’. HD featuring Poppa Woppa - high paced, euphoric ride with blasts and explosions setting the scene. 18 Wheels feels like homecoming at the bricks and ‘Snowman’ is where you feel the effects of long term equalizer abuse, outta body experiences for others.
‘Till I Don’t Feel It’ - if you make it to here, thank you for rocking wit us. The rest of the tape is just as cohesive as a mindstate you gotta be in, a state of fucked up and disoriented or peak of celebration. If you’re not getting money you probably won’t resonate. ‘Everyday Friday’ is what my life been like ever since I graduated. Charliekirk is a hit and BMW (black man working) is the outlier where we hear a sound VF Shaolin can turn on and off effortlessly. Ultimately how the streets react will shape where he takes the hustle. New favorite song every day of the week with this one.
He shot and edited the Die4Me video himself. That voice started on Flame-It!, almost by accident, and he’s run with it ever since. Die4Me lives here until Friday, then it hits YouTube. Run Motion Sickness from the top.
